R5000 Series Routers. Latest Enhancements

InfiNet Wireless introduces extended temperature ranges and new high-power amplifiers

For standard Series 5000 models the temperature range will extend to -40C..+60C, for thermostatic Series 5000 models (OT modification) a new temperature range will be -55C..+60C. In the specified temperature ranges, all devices maintain standard functionality for the Series 5000 product line, including “cold start”. For further improve the overall durability and weatherproofing of the product line, starting September 2005, all Series 5000 ODU will be manufactured in robust iron-cast housing.

Mr. Alexander Rapoport, COO InfiNet Wireless, commented on the new extended range amplification capabilities of the Series 5000 products. “Output power of new 5000 Series wireless routers was increased by using embedded amplifiers developed by InfiNet Wireless. Due to high linearity of the transmission path, declared output power levels are consistent for all modulation types (at all bitrates), unlike standard output amplifiers which reduce their output signal level while using 36Mbps bitrates (and above, with 16QAM and 64QAM modulation).” Increasing power to 300mW means a nearly fivefold increase in the effective radius of the coverage area at 48Mbps, and 500mW at 36Mbps will lead to tripling the radius. New wireless routers with built-in amplifiers can be used both in wide coverage area powerful Base Stations or in ultra-long backhaul links.
