InfiNet Wireless Introduces Three New Product Additions to SkyMAN NG™ Universal Wireless Platform at COMMUNICASIA 2007
InfiNet Wireless, a worldwide leader in multiservice broadband wireless access systems, today announced the availability of three new wireless subsystems for its SkyMAN NG™ Universal Wireless Platform: InfiLINK™ for high-capacity aggregated links and E1 services, and InfiMAX™ and InfiMAN™ for core wireless backbone architecture in carrier-grade access networks. InfiNet Wireless will showcase the new additions as part of the company’s exhibit at CommunicAsia 2007 (Booth 5K3-07) from June 19-22, in Singapore.
“InfiNet’s award-winning SkyMAN NG is already a proven platform and the new InfiLINK, InfiMAX and InfiMAN subsystems will increase both the quality of wireless access the system provides and customer choice,” said Robert Stubblebine, CEO of InfiNet Wireless. “We look forward to continued platform expansions; these new cutting-edge technologies are a significant step.”
InfiLINK offers multiple point-to-point solutions for a variety of applications, including cost-effective short- and medium-range backhauls, cellular backhauling, high capacity aggregated backhauls, non-line of sight (NLOS) backhauls using lower frequency bands, and long-range backhauls reaching distances of more than 60 km. Available in multiple frequency bands, it also offers a range of single and dual-radio wireless routers/switches with external or integrated antennas over a wide selection of models, and provides aggregated link throughput up to 60 Mbps.
InfiMAX is an 802.16-based WiMAX-compliant subsystem of the SkyMAN NG platform, offering cost-effective medium- and long-range point-to-multipoint systems. Available in 2.5-2.7 GHz and 3.4-3.6 GHz frequency bands, it includes features such as routing and switching capabilities, and various other third-level services and mechanisms for city-wide corporate networks, video surveillance deployments, and WISP/operator networks for government and corporate customer broadband access. InfiMAX also allows for rural data and voice connectivity, NLOS point-to-multipoint systems, toll-quality IP telephony, and public and private data network access, all with up to 25 km LOS coverage and end-to-end quality of service.
InfiMAN offers multiple point-to-multipoint solutions for a variety of applications, including high-capacity, powerful base stations for wide coverage and different CPE models, and is ideally suited for the creation of operator-class access networks. With a coverage area exceeding 35 km for single cell and a unique dual-radio base station available in multiple frequency combinations, it is equipped for the same applications as its WiMAX-compliant counterpart and features an even wider range of frequency bands for the high bandwidth, secure and QoS-enabled wireless access enterprise requirements.
“The rugged outlying terrain and crowded airspace in the central cities of Southeast Asia present enormous environmental challenges to the implementation of secure and reliable wireless access,” said Michael Fun, InfiNet Wireless business development director, South East Asia. “Our robust solutions will provide new options for wireless platform creation and stabilization, and ensure smooth and dependable operation no matter what the inherent difficulties of the setting are.”
