Telescience Launches Broadband Wireless Product Promotion

Telescience Malaysia, a leading Solution Integrator and ICT Product Distributor today announced the appointment by Infinet Wireless Ltd, a global provider in Fixed Broadband Wireless Access (FBWA) router systems, as the Exclusive Distributor for Malaysia for its entire range of wireless routers systems and peripherals.

Telescience Malaysia, which was established in 1997, is a leading distributor and system integrator in the ICT industry, providing solutions for telecommunication and network needs, such as modems, multiplexers, integrated access devices, media converters, wireless systems, routers and LAN systems.

Infinet Wireless Ltd is a global provider of Last Mile solutions utilizing Fixed Broadband Wireless Access technology. Infinet wireless routing products represent over 10 years of intense engineering efforts by the world class Russian development laboratories coupled with extensive field experience in design and deployment of wireless carrier-class networks in Emerging Markets. The company has a dominant share in Russian and CIS market (80% of FBWA carrier class networks).

He said this at the technology seminar in Sunway Resort Hotel, held in collaboration with Infinet Wireless Ltd. Today. The seminar entitled “Go Broadband, Go Wireless, Go Wimax, Go Infinet” is a bold declaration by both Telescience Malaysia and Infinet Wireless as to their commitment and beliefs in the growing prospects of this technology in helping the nation realise its dream towards bridging the digital divide and building a connected community.

Mr Robert H. Stubblebine, the CEO of Infinet Wireless Ltd, says that, “Our FBWA products offers scalable, robust, flexible and cost-effective fixed broadband wireless access solutions for carrier-class networks. Wireless routing equipment from Infinet Wireless is designed to implement and expand carrier-class networks for high-speed Internet access, enterprise campus networks, VPN, voice, primary links for the Last Mile and backhauling traffic between cell towers and multiple access points.

InfiNet wireless routing equipment is especially applicable to regions with complex wired infrastructures where infrastructure upgrades require costly or time-consuming activities. Many deployments have been in regions with a dearth of wired infrastructure where wireless is the only viable option for both voice and data networks. The deployment of InfiNet wireless routers minimizes both capital and operational investments for the creation of network infrastructure.”

Robert also added that Infinet Wireless is a member of WIMAX Forum and is actively adding on features and functionalities conforming to the WIMAX standards propagated by the Forum. WiMAX is an industry trade organization formed by leading communications component and equipment companies to promote and certify compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless access equipment that conforms to the IEEE 802.16 and ETSI HIPERMAN standards. The 802.16a standard is a wireless metropolitan area network (MAN) technology that will provide a wireless alternative to cable, DSL and T1/E1 for last mile broadband access. It will also be used as complimentary technology to connect 802.11 hot spots to the Internet.

In a simple signing ceremony, Telescience Malaysia also appointed FiberTouch Sdn Bhd as a Strategic Solution Partner in the provision of an integrated telecommunication solution. MS Fun added that he is quietly confident that the range of Infinet Wireless solutions will attract quite a following in Malaysia, especially seeing through successful field implementations in Russia, China, Indonesia, the Middle East and India. Initial trials and discussions with existing prospects had been very encouraging and Telescience is hopeful to conclude the contracts for some of these projects in the coming few weeks. He also announced that with the appointment, Infinet Wireless will also be promoted and supported by Telescience in Thailand and Singapore. MS Fun also added that the technology seminar today had attracted attention from participants as far as from the Philippines and Thailand albeit the lack of publicity for this event.
